Learn. Connect... Grow Your Business
Everyone is talking about LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Be honest, maybe you’re not savvy on the internet but your franchisor is using these social media platforms, and you are wondering if it is necessary for you to promote your local business this way too? I’d love to hear from other franchisees on their thoughts on this topic.

If you're not really using Social Media very much, why is that? A conscious decision that it doesn't meet your needs, fear of the unknown, too time consuming, or ???
Permalink Reply by Greg DeSimone on January 11, 2012 at 2:56pm One of my top lead generators is LinkedIn, and I'm still learning how to utilize it, FB and Twitter more effectively. I also find that the social media platforms allow me to drip on loose connections and get really engaged with tight connections and leads.
Another benefit is that you can use social media to distribute free value add content that introduces you to your target market, so when a lead does reach out to you they are warmed up.
Plus, other than good old PR and word of mouth, it's been by far my most effective method to promote workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Question for franchisors - is your strategy effective? Why or why not?
Question for franchisees - do you have your own strategy? Is is working?
Permalink Reply by Christina Anderson on February 15, 2012 at 2:59pm I'm looking for a a webinar topic within Frantopia that discusses "tools to use to create new leads".
An email about this particular topic was mailed out two days ago but the email was accidentally deleted and I cant seem to find it on the Frantopia website. Did anyone else receive the same email?
Permalink Reply by Eric Stites on February 15, 2012 at 3:12pm Christina... the topic you are referring to was a blog post, not a webinar. The post on social media tools can be found here and we will be doing an up-coming webinar on the topic very soon.
Permalink Reply by Greg DeSimone on February 15, 2012 at 3:30pm Christina, I think social media is a powerful tool. But I think it becomes really power when you can leverage it with other strategies like networking, strategic alliances, direct mail, print, workshops, webinar and more. By itself, good. Combined with other strategies better.
